Shantanu (Deol) is a CBI officer tasked with investigating a plane crash in West Bengal. The incident strikes strange territory when it is confirmed that the wreckage came from a plane that went missing more than 35 years ago. In the late 1940’s Manto is one of the most successful story writers in the then booming Bombay film industry. But common tensions between Hindus and Muslims forced him to flee to Pakistan with his family. This film did not fare very well at the box office, but received widespread critical acclaim.
