Meadows Raceway and Casino is a thoroughbred horse racing track and casino located in Washington, Pennsylvania. The track opened in 1963 and has a one-mile dirt track. The casino opened in 2007 and has over 1,500 slot machines and 30 table games.
History
Meadows Raceway and Casino was originally built as a horse racing track in 1963. The track was owned by the Meadows Racetrack Company, which was founded by Louis J. Ruvolo. The track was originally known as the Washington County Raceway. In 1977, the track was purchased by the Meadows Gaming Corporation. In 2007, the Meadows Gaming Corporation opened a casino at the track. The casino was the first casino to open in Pennsylvania.
