Foreigner was formed in 1976 by Mick Jones and Lou Gramm. The band’s original lineup also included Ian McDonald (keyboards), Al Greenwood (keyboards), Ed Gagliardi (bass), and Dennis Elliott (drums). Foreigner’s self-titled debut album was released in 1977 and was a commercial success, reaching number four on the Billboard 200 chart. The album spawned the hit singles “Feels Like the First Time” and “Cold as Ice.”

Foreigner’s second album, Double Vision, was released in 1978 and was an even bigger success than their debut album, reaching number one on the Billboard 200 chart. The album spawned the hit singles “Double Vision” and “Head over Heels.”

Foreigner continued to release successful albums throughout the 1980s, including Head Games (1981), The Heat Is On (1982), and Inside Information (1987).
