Young Sheldon is an American comedy television series on CBS created by Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro. In January 2018, CBS renewed the series for a second season which premiered on September 24, 2018, and in February 2019, for a third and fourth season, with the third season having premiered on September 26, 2019.
When will the fourth season release?
The previous seasons in the series Premiered in September 2019 and ran till April 2020. This time, however, due to the coronavirus pandemic the release will be delayed. The release date for the fourth season has not yet been revealed nor has any information about the production has been given.
Has Young Sheldon season 4 been delayed?
In March, Warner Bros shut down the production of the popular series due to the coronavirus pandemic, along with the production of a number of other series.
At the time Warner Bros issued a statement about its decision to cancel filming the series.
The statement said:
“With the rapidly changing events related to COVID-19, and out of an abundance of caution, Warner Bros. Television Group is halting production on some of our 70+ series and pilots currently filming or about to begin.
Assuming that the production for the series has not started yet or perhaps is at a halt, we think that the fourth season could premiere in 2021.

Young Sheldon quickly became a popular comedy series after it made its debut in November 2016, and it started as an initial idea from Jim Parsons, who played adult Sheldon in Big Bang Theory.
The first series takes place in the late 1980s when Sheldon is a young boy attending high school in Texas, and he lives with his family.

Fans are hoping the new series will feature heavily on Sheldon’s siblings, including his twin sister Missy (Raegan Revord), and brother Georgie.
In Big Bang Theory Sheldon recalls on a number of occasions how his father died when he was a teenager, so fans are also waiting to see if the new series addresses his death.
