‘Young Rock’, ‘Kenan’, ‘Mr. Mayor’ are back early with holiday episodes

NBC brings the festivities with all-new, holiday-themed episodes of recurring sitcoms young rock, kenan and Mr Mayor, as well as new comedies American cars and Big Crew.

On Wednesday 15 December from 8/7c, young rock, kenan and Mr Mayor fans will be gifting special holiday getaways ahead of their second season (which will begin sometime in the new year as all three shows return to their regular primetime slots).

Earlier that week, newcomer American cars (by Super store‘s Justin Spitzer) debuts back-to-back episodes on Monday, December 13 at 10 p.m., next The voice. In the meantime, Big Crew (by Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Insecure writer Phil Augusta Jackson) back-to-back episodes will premiere Tuesday, December 14 at 8 p.m.

“As we build momentum for the premiere of these five comedies next year, we’re thrilled to be showing them in a special way over the holiday season,” NBCU comedy EVP Jeff Meyerson said in a statement. “Comedy has always been a defining genre for NBC and we look forward to adding another chapter to our incredible comedy legacy.”

From the creator of Super shop comes a new workplace comedy that takes the auto industry off track. Payne Motors’ corporate executives are in Detroit and at a crossroads: adapting to the changing times or being sent to the junkyard. The new CEO is shaking things up, whose leadership, experience and knowledge are only slightly offset by her complete lack of knowledge about cars. Fortunately, her team has some of the best minds in the business – when they’re not fighting or trying to outsmart each other. From the headquarters to the factory floor, the Payne Motors crew drives home smiling.
Cast: Ana Gasteyer, Jon Barinholtz, Harriet Dyer, Humphrey Ker, Michael B. Washington, Tye White and X Mayo.

Big Crew

by Phil Augusta Jackson (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) and Dan Goor (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) comes a new comedy that proves that life is better with your crew. This group of young professionals are all trying to navigate the ups and downs of life and love in Los Angeles, and they always find time to get together at their favorite bar to “wine” and unpack. There’s Noah, a hopeless romantic too eager to settle down; Nicky, a real estate go-getter who is adventurous in romance; Sherm, a low-key genius who plays the dating odds; Anthony, whose true love is his career; Wyatt, who is relieved to be married and out of the dating scene; and Fay, who is recently divorced and looking for a fresh start in LA. And just like wine, their friendship gets better with time.
Cast: Nicole Byer, Justin Cunningham, Aaron Jennings, Echo Kellum, Grace Mercedes and Carl Tart
