WhatsApp users will soon be able to preview recorded voice notes with the new ‘Review’ button

WhatsApp is testing a new feature that improves upon the existing voice notes service. According to WABetaInfo, the new feature essentially brings a ‘review’ button that allows users to preview their voice note or voice message before hitting send. At the moment, the review button is under development, which means that WhatsApp beta users are not yet able to use the feature. Once testing on the beta channels is complete, WhatsApp for iOS and Android can expect the upgrade. Until now, users could only record voice notes sent directly without any preview option. The Facebook platform in particular has recently started testing a new feature that allows users to increase the playback speed of voice notes up to 2x. Two additional speeds of 1x and 1.5x were also noticed on both WhatsApp beta channels for iOS and Android. There was no option to slow down the playback speed of voice notes.

WhatsApp, owned by Facebook, has yet to share details about the development of the playback speed tool and the ‘review’ button. Meanwhile, the platform is also working on a new chat migration upgrade to allow users to migrate chats between Android and iOS devices. The update will be important for those planning to switch from an Android phone to a new iPhone or vice versa. The chat migration feature can also come in handy once multi-device support for WhatsApp is rolled out, something that has also been in the works for a while. It allows users to link multiple phones to the same WhatsApp account and use WhatsApp Web even when there is no data connection on the phone.
