1. My Octopus Teacher – Netflix

I’ve always been fascinated by documentaries. And in recent years, OTT platforms have released many compelling documentaries that have left a lasting impression on me. But I doubt anything will get that close My Octopus teacher on Netflix now. Story about a man and his innocent, curious and most reliable relationship with an octopus, the documentary goes into their relationship and what we humans can learn from something like an octopus. My Octopus teacher took home the award for best documentary at this year’s Oscars and is a title worth watching.

2. Silence … Can you hear it? – Zee5

An engaging crime thriller to start your week, Silence stars like Manoj Bajpayee, Arjun Mathur and Prachi Desai in the lead. ACP Avinash Verma (played by Bajpayee) joins the team of special agents investigating a high-profile missing woman case, including the daughter of a retired lawyer. This movie has a lot of twists and turns that will keep the audience guessing until the last minute and is definitely a must-watch movie.

3. Serious Men – Netflix

Directed by Sudhir Mishra, Serious men is a dark comedy about a father obsessed with his social status. The film is carried to the end by the exquisite presence of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and makes for a delightful watch.

4. Shanghai – Lionsgate Play

A movie so ahead of its time, Shanghai is a political drama about a group of people who take a memorable journey to find the truth behind the mysterious death of a social activist. They suspect foul play, but the government is convinced it is an accident. Who is right? Shanghai directed by Dibakar Banerjee does a great job of keeping the audience guessing to the end. The film stars Emraan Hashmi, Kalki Koechlin and Abha Deol in central roles.

5. The End of the F *** ing World – Netflix

While the show’s title is very much in line with the current mood of the world, the story is not quite an apocalyptic tale, but rather a personal conclusion to the lives of the characters in the series. Alyssa and James are two teenagers who have lived very different and complicated lives so far, their decision to leave and run sets off a chain of events that ultimately lead them to run for their lives.
