Lucknow, February 15: Giridhari Vishwakarma, the main accused in the murder of another historian Ajit Singh in Lucknow last month, was shot dead by Lucknow police during a meeting at 2.30 a.m. on Monday.
The police spokesman said they took Giridhari to the Khargapur area of Vibhuti Khand in Gomti Nagar to retrieve the weapon used in the murder of Ajit Singh on January 6, when the suspect pushed aside a junior inspector, grabbed his revolver and tried to flee from the railway. intersection.
Other members of the police team chased and shot Giridhari. Police took an injured Giridhari to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
