Biography
Tim Drehkoff is a serial entrepreneur and investor who has founded or co-founded several successful companies, including Credit Karma, Nextdoor, and Opendoor. He is currently the CEO of Opendoor, a real estate company that allows people to buy and sell homes online. Drehkoff was born in 1979 in San Francisco, California. He attended Stanford University, where he studied computer science. After graduating from Stanford, Drehkoff worked as a software engineer at Google. In 2007, he co-founded Credit Karma, a financial services company that helps people compare credit card offers and improve their credit scores. Credit Karma was acquired by Intuit in 2017 for $7.1 billion. In 2010, Drehkoff co-founded Nextdoor, a social networking platform for neighbors. Nextdoor has grown to over 200 million users in the United States. In 2018, Drehkoff co-founded Opendoor, a real estate company that allows people to buy and sell homes online. Opendoor has raised over $1 billion in funding and is currently valued at over $4 billion. Drehkoff is a passionate advocate for financial literacy and education. He is a co-founder of the Financial Literacy for All Coalition, a group of leading financial services companies that are committed to providing financial education to consumers. Drehkoff is also a member of the Aspen Institute’s Financial Security Program.
