The Witcher season 2 is coming to Netflix – you’ll just have to wait a while to watch it.
This week, the streaming service confirmed that their hit adaptation will be back for new episodes on Friday, December 17. The goal is to make things bigger and more epic than before, and that’s a lot to ask given everything it took to make this season happen. The Henry Cavill series went through numerous movie stops because of the virus, plus difficult circumstances and long hours to make things happen. The fruits of all their work can be seen in the new teaser below.
Is it a bit of a surprise that Netflix released information so early? In some ways, sure – they don’t tend to do this for a good 95% of their original programming. Yet, The Witcher is no ordinary show for them, and the reveal makes a lot of sense when you consider WitcherCon. The event took place this week and it only made sense for the trailer to coincide with it.
Season 2 will consist of eight episodes – while the post-production team has been able to put together this teaser for fans, we have a feeling that most of the episodes are still unfinished. Shooting was only completed a little over a few months ago, so there’s still a lot of work to do to make sure the series is perfect.
That said, aren’t good things coming for those who wait? This is a mantra that many of us may have to follow as we wait for the series to have new episodes in the coming months.
