The sequel to the 2007 Disney movie Enchanted, Disenchanted will be filmed in Enniskerry in the coming months and the film production crew has transformed the small village of Wicklow into a Disney scene straight out of Hollywood.
The village is still being made fit for a princess, buildings are covered with flowers, lights and some have even been given a fresh lick of pink paint.

Melanie Corrigan, Alderman of Bray West, said, “The whole place is crazy about Disney!”
Wicklow has actually been the setting for numerous Hollywood movies and big budget shows over the years with such films as Braveheart, My Left Foot and PS, I Love You, all with scenes shot in the county.
Disenchanted sees Enchanted’s original actors, Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey, in picturesque Enniskerry for production.
Adams even previously worked in the village when she filmed Leap Year in 2009.
The owner of the Poppies cafe in Enniskerry spoke to Newstalk’s Lunchtime Live earlier this month about the possibility of making the Hollywood star coffee while working on the film: “I made her cappuccinos. Maybe I’ll make her another cappuccino this time. ”

Corrigan said that “we are no stranger to filmmaking in our lovely Enniskerry village, but this is on a whole new scale, the whole area has been transformed into a Disney village.”
Corrigan is a member of the Wicklow tourism board and says that “the long-term benefit of this will be enormous for the village.”
“It will increase the number of visitors we will see across the province,” she explained, “we are already seeing a massive increase in visitors coming to see the set as it is being built.”
