Where can you watch Fast and Furious 9?
As mentioned before, F9 was released this weekend, but where? You can see the star-studded cast on the big screen in the US
You can go to your nearest cinema to see the action packed movie as soon as possible. But what does that mean for viewers at home?
Does F9 stream on Netflix/HBO Max?
Since F9 is a Universal movie, it will not be streamed on HBO Max. In addition, there is little to no chance for the streaming platform to stream the Fast and Furious 9 soon.
But what about Netflix? Does it serve the same fate? Unfortunately, yes. However, since Universal and Netflix have worked together in the past, there’s a chance they could strike a deal and allow Netflix users to watch the film.
Where can I stream F9 online for free?
Sorry for bursting the bubble; you cannot watch Fast and Furious 9 for free. Don’t worry, there’s still a way not to get off your comfy couch and enjoy the movie at home. All you have to do is wait 17 days. Universal allows premium video on demand studios for as little as $20 by renting the movie. You can rent it after 17 days and enjoy it.
However, there is one clause that you should be aware of. If the film grosses more than $50 million, the PVOD (Premium Video On Demand) platforms will have to wait 31 days to present the film.
After all the considerations, even in the worst case scenario, you have to wait a month to see Vin Diesel, John Cena and the other cast in action in F9. In the meantime, make sure to stay away from the spoilers.
Until then? You can try some other titles like The Ice Road, A Quiet Place Part II and Loki.
When will Fast and Furious 9 be streaming? When will F9 be on demand?
We do not know yet. Fast & Furious 9 is a Universal movie and Universal Studios has a deal with AMC that allows the studio to release its movies-on-demand, usually on premium-on-demand, meaning you can rent the movie for $19.99 — after only 17 days in theaters.
However, an official digital release date for F9 has not yet been announced. The studio will likely make that decision based on how well the film does at the box office. With the roll-out of vaccines, but also with variants of the COVID-19 virus on the rise, it’s too early to say how comfortable moviegoers will feel going to theaters in June.
Is Fast And Furious 9 in theaters?
Fast And Furious 9 is all about the epic combat and now R-rated fatalities, so it’s understandable if you prefer to see it play out on the big screen. And now that the number of cases has fallen and the vaccine rollout in the US has expanded, more and more theaters across the country are opening to different capacities. Be sure to check your state’s most recent safety guidelines, but if your local theaters are open, people who feel safe visiting theaters will be able to see Fast And Furious 9 on the big screen from April 23 — the same day it arrives on HBO Max.
Globally, Fast And Furious 9 has already started rolling out to screens in 28 markets as of this release. While it’s not exactly roaring at the box office abroad like last month’s Wrath Of Man, the film will round out $20 million in sales ahead of its US release.
Will F9 ever be on HBO Max?
Actually, maybe! Currently, Universal has a deal that allows its movies to move to HBO nine months after theatrical release, so in the case of F9, that would be March 2022. That deal expires at the end of 2021. According to a report from Bloomberg, executives are considering licensing Universal movies to HBO Max or Netflix.
F9 will eventually come to Peacock as well, but it may go to HBO first. In 2020, when the NBC/Universal streaming platform Peacock was launched, then-NBCUniversal chairman Steve Burke said, “We want to take something back — we’re taking back the FX window, so Peacock will have every movie ever made by Universal. They just won’t have them in that three month period [while they are on HBO] and we don’t think that’s a problem. It has never been a problem for the broadcasters.”
Every ending in the Fast and Furious 9 movies explained
After numerous delays due to the coronavirus pandemic, F9: The Fast Saga will finally hit theaters on June 25, 2021. At that point, it’s been over four years since the release of its direct predecessor, The Fate of the Furious, and nearly two years since the franchise’s first spin-off, Fast & Furious Presents Hobbs & Shaw. With so much distance, a large cast, and the fact that the Fast and the Furious franchise already includes nine films spanning nearly two decades, it’s fair if Fast fans need a little refresher on where we ended up after each one.
