Queen of the South is a crime drama television series created by MA Fortin and Joshua John Miller. The show is an adaptation of the telenovela La Reina del Sur, which in turn is also an adaptation of Arturo Pérez-Reverte’s novel of the same name. The series began its premiere on June 23, 2016 on USA Network and has since aired 4 seasons. On August 29, 2019, the show was renewed for a fifth season, but it wasn’t until April 7, 2024 that the series’ final season premiered. Now that several weeks have passed since then, we’re heading towards Queen of the South Season 5 Episode 4, and in this article we’ll discuss the preview and recap the previous episode.
Queen of the South follows the story of a certain Teresa Mendoza. She was a poor Mexican woman who, despite her humble beginnings, gets rich by starting an entire drug cartel. As the drug cartel grows and collects more money than she ever imagined, she learns the harsh realities of the illegal trade. While she believes she could abide by her moral code while running a drug cartel, that’s far from the truth.
She has now realized that collecting such materialistic gains would involve personal losses. At the end of Season 4, Teresa faced another challenge with James threatening him. But now Teresa has used all of her influence and power. She has finally realized that she cannot escape. She has a lot of enemies breathing down her neck, so she’s stuck in the cartel with no hope of getting out.
Queen of the South Season 5 Episode 3 Preview
Teresa – Disney + Hotstar
In Season 5, Episode 3 of Queen of the South, entitled “No Te Pierdas La Cabeza,” Boaz will kidnap Judge Lafayette. The judge would appear at a press conference to free the charge from Marcel Dumas’ head. But instead, he’s got a $ 2 million premium on his head. Fearing being caught by a bounty hunter, Marcel summons Teresa, who sends James to get him out of state. James will pick up Marcel, but they go to see Lucian before they leave. Lucian gives Marcel a bag of money, after which they are chased by the police. James manages to get rid of them, but they have to decorate the car and take shelter in one of Teresa’s safehouses. James then calls her to send another car.
Boaz appears with Lafayette’s head in a box at Teresa’s. Elsewhere, Captain Gamble follows his trail as they find Lafayette’s car in bad shape. They are sure he is dead and later come to arrest Boaz when they find footage of Boaz dragging Lafayette’s body.

Teresa wants Boaz’s help to solve her shipping problem from Mexico. That’s why Boaz is too valuable to her. She wants to expose Lafayette’s corruption, but the evidence would not hold up as it is circumstantial. Teresa wants to send Boaz back to Miami and wants someone else to take the blame for the murder. Still, since she has no one to do this, she decides to bribe Gamble with $ 3 million a month. But things can’t be left that way, because it takes someone to take the blame for Lafayette’s murder. With no other option, Teresa turns Dumas over as the murderer.
