After drawing a lot of attention since 2020, after a long wait, Radhe is finally released on May 13. Apart from the theatrical release, Radhe also got digital release on the same day and will also premiere on Zee Plex and on ZEE5 on Thursdays. The most anticipated action movie is directed by Prabhu Deva, while the film’s production work is done by Salman Khan, Sohail Khan, Atul Agnihotri, under the banner of Zee Studios.
The film’s cast includes big names in the Bollywood film industry such as Salman Khan, Disha Patani, Randeep Hooda and Jackie Shroff. Although the film’s production work was delayed due to a pandemic situation, it was finally started in November 2019 and completed in October 2020.
After being announced in the year 2019, ‘Radhe: Your Least Wanted Bhai’ was previously scheduled for 2020 release on Eid, but the original date (May 22, 2020) was moved to this year due to a pandemic outbreak of the coronavirus. Now the film is finally out in theaters and on streaming platforms and is getting a good response from the fans.
The real question is, does the ongoing covid-19 situation affect the collection? What about the box office collection? Let’s take a look at the collection for the first day below.
Radhe Box Office Collection (day 1)
As we all know the heavy restrictions imposed in the country along with lockdown in several states due to the covid-19 second wave in India, we cannot expect large numbers that Salman Khan’s film usually shoots. It’s pretty clear that the movie may not be doing exceptionally at the domestic box office as most of the cinemas and theaters in the country are closed. But Salman Khan’s fans based outside the country may be able to access their favorite actor’s movie in theaters.
With many of the big screens closed here in the country, the domestic collection cannot be estimated, but the overseas box office collection of ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’ is pretty decent. The film will be released on a big screen in 40 countries outside of India and fans from the Gulf countries, Australia, and some other countries visit theaters to watch the film. This time, however, the overseas box office collection is not so big that it was included in its last movie release, namely Bharat in 2019. According to the recent report from Boxofficeindia.com, ‘Radhe’ has collected around $ 60,000 to $ 70,000 so far from the theatrical release in Australia.
While fans in India can stream the movie online on Zee5, these OTT platforms don’t disclose viewership, making it hard to tell if the movie is a hit or a flop.
