Presque Isle Downs and Casino is a casino and horse racing track located in Presque Isle, Pennsylvania. The casino is owned by Gaming and Leisure Properties and operated by Penn National Gaming. It opened in 1972 and is the only casino in Pennsylvania that offers live horse racing. The casino has over 2,000 slot machines and 80 table games. It also offers a variety of dining options, a spa, and a hotel.

History

Presque Isle Downs and Casino was originally built as a horse racing track in 1972. The track was owned by the Erie Downs Corporation and operated by the Erie County Fair Board. In 1996, the track was sold to the Isle of Capri Casinos. In 2007, Isle of Capri Casinos was acquired by Harrah’s Entertainment. In 2011, Harrah’s Entertainment was acquired by Caesars Entertainment. In 2014, Caesars Entertainment sold Presque Isle Downs and Casino to Gaming and Leisure Properties. In 2015, Penn National Gaming signed a 25-year lease to operate the casino.

To get to Presque Isle Downs and Casino, take Interstate 90 to Exit 183. Follow Route 83 North for about 2 miles. Turn left onto Peninsula Drive. The casino will be on your right.
