KABIR KHAN’S 83
Deepika Padukone wants to make a solid comeback with the Kabir Khan director, 83. Kabir, who has led some of the biggest Bollywood blockbusters such as Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan in the past, wants to repeat the success with 83. The film stars Ranveer Singh starring and is based on India’s 1983 Cricket World Cup victory.
SHAKUN BATRA’S NEXT
Deepika will star in director Shakun Batra’s self-titled next film, which is expected to be released sometime later this year. In this intense relationship drama, the actor will share the screen with young people like Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday. The storyline of the Karan Johar-backed project has been reported to revolve around the character of Deepika Padukone.
THE PATHAN OF SIDDHARTH ANAND
In Pathan, Deepika Padukone is reunited with co-star Shah Rukh Khan after Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express and Happy New Year respectively. Also starring John Abraham in a pivotal role, this director of Siddharth Anand is tipped as a spy thriller with cameos from two of the country’s biggest action stars, Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan. The project is supported by Yash Raj Films (YRF).
BOLLYWOOD REMAKE OF THE INTERN
Last year, Deepika Padukone announced an official Bollywood remake of the Hollywood hit The Intern, starring Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro. In the film, Deepika would star alongside late actor Rishi Kapoor, whose untimely demise, coupled with the ongoing new coronavirus pandemic, led to script changes and further slowdown in production. A director for the film and the replacement for Rishi Kapoor have yet to be announced. Deepika is also the film’s co-producer.
SIDDHARTH ANAND’S FIGHTER
After working for Pathan with director Siddharth Anand, Deepika Padukone will star in Fighter, another project directed by Anand. This mega-budget action thriller puts the new couple Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan on celluloid ahead of time. Fighter is said to be mounted on a dazzling budget of around Rs 250 crore, and Fighter will hit theaters on September 30, 2022. This will also be the third collaboration between Hrithik Roshan and Siddharth Anand, following Bang Bang and War respectively.
NAG ASHWIN’S MULTILINGUAL MOVIE
Deepika Padukone will set fire to the individual screens with next director Nag Ashwin being tipped off as a pan-India project. In the film, she will star opposite Baahubali, Prabhas fame, and the ambitious film will be released in multiple languages across the country. Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan has also joined the two stars in this yet to be named Nag Ashwin director, which is said to be a sci-fi movie.
MAHABHARAT
During Chhapaak’s promotions, Deepika Padukone announced another mega-budget feature film entitled Mahabharat. It was reported that the production scale and budget of the costumes in both of these would be over the roof. Deepika would play the role of Draupadi in this movie. However, there is no news about the project that the actor would be producing with Madhu Mantena. Deepika even claimed that Mahabharat will be at least five times bigger than a regular feature film.
