Padma Shri Kaur Singh Trailer Review

The trailer of Vikram Pradhan’s movie ‘Padam Shri Kaur Singh’ has just been released and here we are with our trailer review!

Before we start reviewing the trailer of Padma Shri Kaur Singh! This is a new face warning! I mean, it’s a relief to see the new faces in the movie because I was really tired of seeing one pair after another come back to the screen. These so-called ‘superstars’ were being released, then their single track … Dayam!

So let’s appreciate the freshness of the movie.

Now, let’s actually talk about the story, the film that we consider to be a complete biopic on the life of Indian boxer Kaur Singh is not really a biopic. Well, it wasn’t for me! I found this to be more of a love story and inspiration than the life of a boxer. While watching the trailer, I also got the gist of Amy Virk-Tania starrer film ‘Sufna’ because it also included a ‘Fauji’ angle, because it is a Punjabi film, of course, yes, it had to be.

Speaking of actors in the film, we saw Karam Bath (also the producer of the film) in the lead role, which was often used, but we are still waiting for his performance. Also Jassa Patti First Turbaned Dangal (Pehalwan) Wrestler

Prabha Grewal is seen as the female lead. I am happy to see her as a Punjabi actress who can speak Punjabi really well. This new face of the industry has been seen back to back in many films. But at the same time, I really hope the audience doesn’t dominate him like other A-list actors.

From lyricist to an actor, Raj Kakra has been a part of many extremist films in the past. Unfortunately, these films could not be released in India. In this movie, he is seen playing the role of an army coach. So, it’s great to see him in a movie like this.

Another vital mention I would like to make is of singer-turned-actor Sukhbir Gill, best known for his role in Shyam Benegal’s ‘Kartar S’. But now we will finally get to see his acting skills in it.

BTW, just an observation, Sukhdeep Gill and Sukhdeep Sukh look like real-life brothers. I mean they can definitely be considered to play the role of brothers on screen… .just in case!

Talking about the overall feel of the trailer, I really liked the trailer with a beautiful makeover. It has become a new breath in Punjabi cinema. The background score and direction look good at the moment, but not sure about the film.

The only disappointing factor was actually the last scene where the character breaks the chair, which actually seems to be a fake life ਓ the chair is holding the tutan to the wire.

So, overall, this is a thumbs up for the trailer, but for any decision to be made, I will still wait for the movie. I hope the audience will like it too as it is challenging for such new artists to find a place for themselves in the industry but this can only happen if they get the full support of the cinema-goers.

Still, this was my review! You guys see it for yourself and feel free to share your thoughts with us in the comments section.
