O’Sheas Casino is a casino located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is owned and operated by Caesars Entertainment Corporation. The casino opened in 1995 and is named after the Irish actor and singer Mickey O’Shea.
History of O’Sheas Casino
O’Sheas Casino was originally built as a hotel and casino called the Sands Regency. The Sands Regency was opened in 1952 and was one of the first casinos on the Las Vegas Strip. The casino was owned and operated by the Sands Corporation.
In 1995, the Sands Corporation was sold to the Mirage Resorts Corporation. The Mirage Resorts Corporation renamed the Sands Regency to the O’Sheas Casino. The O’Sheas Casino was remodeled and reopened in 1996.
In 2005, the Mirage Resorts Corporation was acquired by MGM Mirage. MGM Mirage continued to operate the O’Sheas Casino.
In 2010, MGM Mirage was acquired by Caesars Entertainment Corporation. Caesars Entertainment Corporation continues to operate the O’Sheas Casino.
