Last Tuesday, the International Cricket Council postponed qualifying events for the 2020 Women’s World Cup and the showpiece Men’s Under-19 2022 set to take place in July. The Women’s World Cup was to take place from July 3 to July 19 in Sri Lanka. Ten teams would be hosted from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Ireland, Zimbabwe, the West Indies, the Netherlands, Thailand, Papua New Guinea and the United States. Of these three teams would have been in the World Cup in New Zealand next year.
Men’s Under-19 2022 is set to start with the European Regional Qualifier in Denmark from July 24 to July 30. The ICC will determine the time to hold these events after consultation with the participants.
They stated that the welfare of the players is paramount. The remaining ICC under-19 cricket World Cup Regional Qualifying Division 2 is monitored. The event that would take place in Africa will take place in Tanzania between August 4 and 14. Asia even takes place in Thailand between December 1 and 9. The Regional Qualifying Division 1 will take place in 2021 in all five regions.
