Lord Seventh has arrived at the place where Kawaki was raging. He managed to stop Kawaki from using his Kurama’s powers. Kawaki falls unconscious after the chaos is over. They took him to the hospital where he dreams about his past when he sleeps. Boruto: Naruto Next Generations will look at Kawaki’s past. Before being taken for the Jigen ritual, Kawaki lived in a village where they were struggling. He wakes up early in the morning to collect firewood and get paid for it. He did that for a living.
After earning his first salary, he goes to the liquor store and buys beer for his father. The store owner wonders why a young boy is shopping for his father. On the way home Kawaki met a man who sold goldfish. The man says that Kawaki is his first customer since he arrived in this village. He also told Kawaki that he would give him a good deal. Goldfish symbolize luck and growing abundance with money, and they also repel evil spirits. Kawaki told the man that he has no money and that he cannot afford goldfish.

The man apologizes for harassing Kawaki because he has no money. He told Kawaki that there is a goldfish show in town at the base of the mountain. He gave Kawakii a ticket to the goldfish show. Kawaki said his father would get angry if he got home late, and he runs back. The man notes that Kawaki is a strange child, and another salesman notes that he lives with his drunken father.
But people used to say that Kawaki’s dad was a great shinobi in the past. The seller notes that he has doubts whether it is true. No matter how much his father hit him, he works hard until he’s drenched in sweat. Kawaki’s father spends all his hard-earned money on booze. The goldfish says if it is difficult for him, he should just run. The seller said that at that age the child has nowhere to run. He’s like those goldfish waiting to be sold.

If Kawaki tries to run, he will die like a goldfish trying to get out of the water. Kawaki arrives at his house. He gave his father drink, and he scolds him for being late. Kawaki’s father remarks that he is slacking and that he has not brought enough booze. He apologized and said he would bring more tomorrow. His father saw the goldfish ticket and took it. He read it and told Kawaki not to try to leave the village, and it is for his own good. Kawaki’s father rips that card to punish Kawaki for not listening to him.
He also told Kawaki that there is no dinner for him today. The next day Kawaki goes out to do some shopping. On the way, he met two chubby punks who tease him about his dad. They told him that his father had gone mad after the great war. Kawaki told them to stop making fun of his father, since he is the hero. The two punks hit Kawaki, and the goldfish man saves him. The goldfish man told Kaweaki that he knows about his father.
He has walked the same path as Kawaki, and nothing good will come from it. The goldfish man asks Kwaki to sell the goldfish with him and make money. Kawaki notes that he cannot leave his father alone, and that he must hurry to give him a drink. Kawaki notices that the bottle of liquor is broken after those chubby punks slapped him.

As they left, Delta arrived and took a cloth with Kawaki’s blood. Later Kwaki comes home, and his father locks him in the room. Jigen arrives and makes a huge offer to Kawaki’s father. Kawaki’s father got carried away after he knew how much he would get by selling Kawaki. Jigen took Kawaki and told him he would never suffer again. They both go to the tunnel that connects to Kawaki’s village. But Kawaki wonders why Jigen is taking him.
Jigen notes that he will completely change Kawaki’s life and forget about his past. Kawaki asks Jigen why he spent so much money on him, and the goldfish arrives. He asks Jigen what he wants to do with Kawaki or whether he is a human trafficker. The goldfish remarks that Kawaki is his because he wants to sell it.
Jigen told Kawaki to wait for him at the end of the tunnel; he’ll talk to the goldfish guy. Later, Jigen met Kawaki and told him that he had talked to the goldfish boy and that he had withdrawn. They both go to the place where Amado is doing Jigen’s ritual, and he told him this is a safe place not to worry. Today Kwaki wakes up and finds Naruto for him. Naruto said this is a safe place, don’t worry. Kawaki wonders why Naruto said the exact same words as Jigen.
