For those trapped in their homes during the winter storm we will have, don’t take this as a time to be upset. Instead, take this time to really enjoy your family and spend some quality time with them.
Here are some of my picks for times like this where I can have a nice big bowl of gumbo and watch some of my favorite movies. These are my all year round favorites. In case you’ve never had a chance to check them out, you might want to familiarize yourself with them a little.
Friday – I like all three Friday movies. Of course, if you’re inside and can’t move the way we’d like, you can watch a trilogy of movies that will have you laughing from start to finish. You can’t go wrong at all with characters like Dae Dae, Craig and Smokey.
Cannonball Run – I remember seeing this movie several times when I was a kid and laughing like crazy. It is a race of all races and offers everyone of it Dom Deluise, Mel Tillis, to Burt Reynolds. I just remember the fight that followed when they just wanted to win, and the competition was hilarious.
Judas and the Messiah – This film is about how trust can really get you in trouble sometimes. It follows the rise of Chairman Fred Hampton and how his trust in William O’Neal, an FBI informant, contributed to the death of Fred Hampton. The movie is not for the faint of heart, but it is a real story and should be considered.
Groundhog Day – Who doesn’t remember this classic with Bill Murphy? I remember thinking how awful it would be to wake up every day and repeat it all over again, all because of that old nasty groundhog. The movie is a classic and if you need a laugh play it loud and get ready to laugh hysterically.
This should get you through at least the two days as you may want to play some board games and really bond with the kids. Again, be careful if you have to leave the house and take the time to really enjoy what a little white snow in Lake Charles is like
