Mortal Engines 2 (2023) is an upcoming American post-apocalyptic science fiction action film based on the Mortal Engines novel series by Philip Reeve. It is a sequel to the 2018 film Mortal Engines and the second installment in the Mortal Engines film series. The film is directed by Christian Rivers and written by Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, and Philippa Boyens. It stars Hera Hilmar, Robert Sheehan, Hugo Weaving, Jihae, Leila George, Ronan Raftery, Patrick Malahide, Stephen Lang, and Rhys Ifans. The film is set several years after the events of the first film, with the world now divided into several moving cities that travel the globe on giant wheels. Tom Natsworthy (Sheehan) and Hester Shaw (Hilmar) are now on the run from the Traction Cities, and they must find a way to stop the war between the cities and the people of the static settlements.
