Kaleen Bhaiyya was hands down the best thing about Mirzapur 1 and in the new season, this fact doesn’t change. In fact, he gets inexplicably better in a way only Pankaj Tripathi can –effortlessly building on his menacing air and the wry sense of humor.
Shweta Tripathi and Ali Fazal bring out the emotional angst and deep pain of their hopeless situation. In a leap from the first season, Fazal brings a reflective layer to Guddu. Pankaj Tripathi makes every scene count as he subtly portrays Kaleen Bhai’s disappointments, victories, and the ability to turn a blind eye to the mess in his own home. Rasika Dugal’s Beena crackles and continues to be one of the more fascinating characters.

Season 2 starts with an almost six-minute-long recap and briskly establishes where all its main characters are, and also introduces some of the new players.
