Sony Liv has become a big name in the world of OTT with web series like ‘Scam 1992’ and ‘Gullak’. However, the problem with this OTT also becomes the same as with Amazon Prime Video and Netflix. This is the problem of tying a tie after seeing the face. Ajay Rai and Jar Pictures may have tied Sonya Liv with a three-line story, but there’s nothing in this six-episode web series that keeps these dolls tied to the end. The audience gasps in two or three episodes. After that, the writer does not understand how to return the bamboo (tent pole) of the tent so high, nor does the director get help from his team to beat the story.
If you have seen the trailer for the web series ‘Kathmandu Connection’ then your eagerness to watch this series must have been the same as everyone else. Everyone wanted to see what is the Kathmandu connection of killing the officer who was investigating the bomb blasts that rocked the entire country? At the center is a hotel businessman hijacking and the mess of phone calls received by a TV journalist. In general, the atmosphere was very well decorated, but by expanding this essence of the story, the author Siddharth Mishra began to hesitate again. Siddharth had previously been given a big shot in the ‘Rangbaaz’ series. But the tukka installed there could not become an arrow here. He chose the subject of the web series very interesting this time too, but to weave the fabric of crime stories, he would have to read more anyway.
Director Sachin Pathak’s bad direction makes the web series ‘Kathmandu Connection’ more boring. The director has not yet come up with six parts of the story here. Where the story is filled in in an episode, they have put it. This is a mistake when directing more than when writing. He starts the story very forcefully, upon seeing the first episode it looks like a good crime story has been seen this weekend, but by the time of the third episode the case gets loose. The dialogues of the web series also do not help the director to create the necessary atmosphere.
The entire series of web series ‘Kathmandu Connection’ is based on the writing style by the maker. The stars are not very famous. Amit Sial does his best to keep the character alive, his work is also brilliant but the other traces of the story weaken his character. Such a relationship between a police officer and a TV journalist has now ended in the web series. Writers should explore some new colors of these professions. With the help of Amit Sial, the creators are doing their best to drag this series, but the case doesn’t freeze. The most damaging to the series is the casting of Aksha Pardasani. The replacement of a seasoned actress could have changed the hue of the series.
From a technical point of view, the web series ‘Kathmandu Connection’ does not attract much. The fame of ‘Oye Lucky Lucky Oye’ and ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ wakes up Kautuhl to see Sneha Khanvilkar’s name with the music department of a web series, but something she was unable to create in the series, which stayed in the mind hang out after the series is over. Leave it. Also the cinematography of Arun Pandey and the editing of Nikhil Parihar are average, neither of which did anything out of the ordinary which is considered an added value in the web series.
