Kamathipura, an expected web series release date, is reportedly being delayed due to the introduction of new OTT guidelines in India. It appears that the ordinance has reportedly been disclosed by the official authorities. Kamathipura was all set to release Monday this week on the ever-expanding streaming platform, Disney + Hotstar. However, because the regulations bring new changes to streaming, the web series will not be released indefinitely.
The news came to light after the show’s lead, Meera Chopra took it to Twitter to make the reveal. Plus, the tweet revolving around the unexpected indefinite delay forced everything to do with the series to make subtle changes before it’s released nationwide.
Kamathipura has a talented cast backed by a robust script. The series features such actors as Tanuj Virwani, Meera Chopra, Varun Joshi and Anang Desai. In addition, the series also features Kulbhushan Kharbanda who has a revealed but prominent role in the series. Every other detail regarding the series is the same, the only problem is the release date shift.
The series revolves around Mumbai’s remarkable red-light district, which is popular for prostitution. The official synopsis for the series came from Disney + Hotstar officials. The series tells three murders and a mystery. Previous speculation suggested the plot will take viewers on a journey to Mumbai’s underbelly crime network. The series will also highlight persistent issues such as financial extortion, narcotics use, human trafficking, protection money, murder, and more.
Initially, the creators contacted Amazon Prime Video to premiere the series, but later Disney + Hotstar decided to release the series on their ecosystem. At the time of writing, the release date is not known, but once the release date is set, it will be covered by us in future articles.
