The Fresno State Bulldogs are trying to bounce back from losing a sweep in Nevada last week. The Bulldogs (5-5, 3-5) continue their road trip as they then travel to Boise State (12-1, 8-0). Boise State is one of two unbeaten teams in Mountain West, while Fresno State is in seventh place.

About Boise State

Boise State is in the midst of what could become a big basketball season for the school known for its soccer success on the blue turf. The Broncos currently rake in Top 25 votes, with the 32nd most votes in the Coaches Poll and the 34th most in the AP Poll. In the NCAA’s NET rankings, which was recently created to replace the RPI in determining the NCAA tournament field, Boise State is ranked # 16 nationally.

Boise State’s lone defeat this season was their season opener at No. 17 Houston with a score of 68-58. They have since won 12 straight games. Boise State has so far swept all four of their conference series in a dominant fashion, coincidentally against the four teams at the bottom of the Mountain West standings. The Broncos have only had one victory at the conference that was not double digit, with an average score of 86-63.

Boise State has five players averaging double digits per game, led by 6-foot-9 senior guard Derrick Alston with 16.5 points per game and 4.1 rebounds per game. The Broncos recently added a boost from Arizona’s transfer Devonaire Doutrive, who qualified for the last four games, scoring a total of 38 points in his last two games in Wyoming.

About the state of Fresno

The Bulldogs drove a three-game winning streak to Nevada, but were surpassed by the Wolf Pack in back-to-back double-digit losses. Orlando Robinson led the Bulldogs’ efforts in both games with 15 points each. In this series, Fresno State will not have starting attacker Anthony Holland for at least the first game of this series while in concussion protocol.
