Has HBO Canceled ‘Succession’? Will Season 3 Be The Last?

Despite a long wait, HBO announced that: succession will return for a third season. Viewers have been waiting for the series to return since the second season finale in 2019. Now HBO has revealed that we won’t have to wait much longer.

Season 3 of succession will premiere on Sunday October 17. The nine-episode season returns with everyone’s favorite manipulative family and even some new faces on the A-list. Also check out why fans can’t stop talking about the official release date of the third season.

Season 3 Cast & Plot Description Revealed

At the end of Season 2, ambushed by his rebellious son Kendall, Logan Roy begins Season 3 in a dangerous position, struggling to forge family, political and financial alliances. Tensions are mounting as a bitter business battle threatens to degenerate into a family civil war,” HBO said in a press release.

Season 3 will see the return of cast members Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook, Kieran Culkin, Alan Ruck, Nicholas Braun, Matthew Macfadyen, Peter Friedman, J. Smith-Cameron, Dagmara Dominczyk, Justine Lupe, David Rasche, Fisher Stevens , Hiam Abbass, Arian Moayed, Harriet Walter, James Cromwell, Natalie Gold, Juliana Canfield, Annabelle Dexter-Jones, Zoë Winters and Jeannie Berlin.

Meanwhile, an additional cast list includes new faces such as Alexander Skarsgård, Sanaa Lathan, Linda Emond, Jihae, Adrien Brody, Hope Davis and Dasha Nekrasova.

succession creator Jesse Armstrong, who also serves as showrunner, executive produces with Adam McKay, Frank Rich, Kevin Messick, Jane Tranter, Mark Mylo, Tony Roche, Scott Ferguson, Jon Brown, Lucy Prebble, Will Tracy and Will Ferrell.

The HBO series’ critical acclaim

Season 2 of succession the series earned seven Emmy awards, including Outstanding Drama Series. The show also won the remarkable award in 2019 for its first season. The Guardian gave the second season five stars and described it as “horrifying, despicable and horribly addictive”. They added: “It was smart and mean. . .watching these people tear each other apart was a great spectator sport.”

Variety called the second season an improvement over the first. The review read: “The world of the Roy family has opened up and has provided a meaningful understanding not only of the lust for power, but also of what that power can do and what privileges it deprives.”

Succession season 3 dubious poster

As expected, with the announcement of the new season came a stylish new poster. The new poster shows the horribly dysfunctional family as they try to move forward with the season two finale. A clear line in the middle makes it clear who is on Kendall’s or Logan’s side.

The release date poster sent to the press features Shiv, Roman and Connor on Logan’s side. Meanwhile, Tom and Cousin Greg are right behind Kendall. However, it has been revealed that this is not the only version of the poster that has been revealed.

In a potential Easter egg, the poster that succession posted on twitter shows us another story. Shiv, Connor and Cousin Greg are on Kendall’s side, while Roman and Tom are on Logan’s side.

Even more confusing was that another version was posted on Instagram. In this one, Roman and Cousin Greg are on the left with Kendall, while Shiv, Tom, and Connor are on the right with Logan.

Oddly enough, Cousin Greg is the only person who never seems to switch sides. He stays on Kendall’s side through every poster variation.
