Haruki Murakami hosted a jazz show and you can watch it online – with English subtitles

Internationally acclaimed Japanese author Haruki Murakami is, as you know, a huge one music lover, especially jazz. So, in honor of Tokyo FM’s 50th anniversary, Murakami turned to his DJ skills to host a special live-stream jam on Sunday, February 14; the show is called Blame the Bossa NovaAlthough the live stream is over, you can still watch the two-hour special with English subtitles online until Wednesday, February 24, 11:59 PM.

The show features renowned bossa nova and jazz musicians, including Lisa Ono, Kaori Muraji and Miu Sakamoto, as well as a rare talk session with the famous reclusive author. Musical director Junko Onishi also performs together with pianist Yosuke Yamashita.

You can watch the archived video as many times as you want during the above period. Tickets to stream the show are available, costing ¥ 4,000 each onlinealong with exclusive Murakami Jam merchandise including T-shirts, tote bags and mugs.
