History of Grand Casino Mille Lacs
The Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe first opened a casino in Hinckley in 1982. The casino was located in a small building and only had a few slot machines. In 1992, the band opened the Grand Casino Mille Lacs on the site of the old Hinckley Indian School. The new casino was much larger than the old one and quickly became one of the most popular casinos in Minnesota.
