About Gin Blossoms
Gin Blossoms formed in 1987 in Tempe, Arizona. The band’s original lineup consisted of Robin Wilson (lead vocals, guitar), Jesse Valenzuela (guitar, vocals), Doug Hopkins (guitar), Scott Johnson (drums), and Bill Leen (bass). The band’s debut album, “New Miserable Experience”, was released in 1992 and reached number four on the Billboard 200 chart. The album spawned the hit singles “Hey Jealousy”, “Found Out About You”, and “Follow You Down”.
Gin Blossoms released their second album, “Congratulations I’m Sorry”, in 1995. The album was not as successful as their debut album, but it did produce the hit single “Until I Fall Away”. The band’s third album, “Shangri-La”, was released in 1997. The album was a commercial failure and the band broke up shortly after its release.
Gin Blossoms reunited in 2002 and released their fourth album, “Major Lodge Victory”, in 2003. The album was a commercial success and the band toured extensively in support of it.
