Various streaming benefits are offered by telecom companies such as Jio & Airtel. A VIP subscription to Disney + Hotstar, which comes with prepaid plans from Airtel and Jio, is such a common streaming benefit. However, the premium plan has not been offered by any of the telecom majors to date. Disney + Hotstar VIP subscribers are reportedly able to do that now upgrade
on a Premium subscription.
How to upgrade?
Disney + Hotstar VIP users must do the following: –
- Log into their account
- Tap the upgrade option
- Pay the balance
Depending on the remaining period of the VIP subscription, the subscribers will have to pay an amount. The remaining amount, ie the balance of the VIP subscription, will be deducted from the annual Disney + Hotstar VIP subscription fee. Only Tech was the first to notice this development.
According to the documents cited in the report, the promotional offers or coupons were not considered direct purchases by Disney + Hotstar to date. For this reason, the upgrade to a premium subscription was not allowed, and as a result, these users were previously asked to purchase a premium subscription to Disney + Hotstar separately.
With these current developments in the market, these users can upgrade to the premium subscription by logging into their accounts and paying the remaining balance.
While not officially announced by the company, the Disney + Hotstar subscription price will most likely be increased. Varied prices between Rs 399, Rs 499 and Rs 599 on different devices were charged as the subscription price.
Through their hep page on Twitter, Disney + Hotstar replied that the Disney + Hotstar VIP pricing is under review and customers will see the new pricing soon.

Jio Rs 401 Prepaid Plan: To offer unlimited domestic calls from Jio to any network in the country, this plan gives 90 GB of data with 6 GB extra for 28 days. This plan comes with an annual subscription to Disney + Hotstar.
