NEW DELHI: Star India, owner of the over-the-top (OTT) video streaming platform Disney + Hotstar, said on Wednesday that it has signed nine main sponsors for the ongoing India vs England series that began Feb.
Fantasy sports platform Dream11 has come on board as co-presenting sponsor, with ICICI Bank and Tata Cliq as ‘powered by sponsors’. Online food delivery platform Zomato, edtech company Unacademy, online healthcare startup 1MG, ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund, Kingfisher Storm Soda and Kingfisher Packaged Drinking Water have been signed up as associate sponsors.

The Paytm India vs England series, which is currently underway, will close on March 28. The series includes four test matches, five T20 matches and three ODIs.
“International cricket has returned to India after a while, resulting in a tremendously energetic, positive sentiment from fans and advertisers alike. Advertiser interest is unprecedented, reflected in sold-out ad inventory for the major T20 and ODI matches. Disney + Hotstar has a very engaged affluent audience that appeals to brands in a variety of categories… ”said a Disney + Hotstar spokesperson.
The platform said it has a host of innovative advertising and branding content solutions for businesses to reach and engage audiences more effectively.
The series will be streaming on Disney + Hotstar in five languages - English, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Tamil – and is available exclusively to Disney + Hotstar VIP and Premium subscribers.
After an impressive victory by Team India in the cricket test series against Australia earlier this year, advertisers are lining up for slots as India takes on visitors England in the bi-monthly series.
Mint reported that according to media buyers’ estimates, official broadcaster is expected to bring in Star India 500 crore in ad revenue from television and Disney + Hotstar.
