Did Paramount just confirm that Tails is in the second ‘Sonic’ movie?

What can we say about Sonic? He is one of the most iconic game characters of all time, and his relevance only grows with age; in recent years, Sonic has transitioned from video game idol to meme lord. No doubt you’ve seen him taunt you (only on a Friday night? God, you are pathetic) in its most famous meme format, although on the Internet everyone’s favorite hedgehog appears in every format imaginable.

However, few Sonic memes are better than those related to his first live-action feature film, 2020’s Sonic the hedgehogSonic fans showed their tremendous strength on the franchise when the team found out Sonic the hedgehog has redesigned the CGI video game hero in 2019.

Film accidents

The redesign of Sonic only happened after widespread criticism broke out on the web, in meme format and otherwise, after the first trailer for Sonic the hedgehog was released (its original beady eyes still haunt usIt seems our enormous love for Jim Carrey wasn’t enough for the first version of Sonic the hedgehog to hit the big screen.

Designs were redone and the Sonic the hedgehog movie made it to the big screen in February 2020, with a more recognizable version of our speedy blue friend. Plus, it seems that Sonic’s redesign was far from the first hurdle the movie faced.

A Sonic movie has been in the works since the 1990s, but the gear for the production of the movie only started when Sony acquired the rights in 2013. Director Jeff Fowler signed in 2016, Paramount got the rights from Sony in 2017, and most of the cast signed in 2018.

Sonic first came to us with the first video game of the Sonic the hedgehog franchise in 1991, a film that seems to have been growing in the creative womb for nearly thirty years. However, the first Sonic movie could not have been created at a worse time.

Paramount Pictures was probably excited to finally release the movie in February 2020, even if it’s a little later than expected. That is, until March 2020 reared its ugly head and theaters around the world closed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Second coming

Pandemic aside, the Sonic film did quite a d% # n well and somehow made more than three times its budget at the box office. In 2021, you don’t need a great theatrical release to get a sequel or even a franchise, but it certainly doesn’t hurt and a new Sonic movie isn’t surprisingly on the way.

The Sonic Movie’s official Twitter threw skeptics to the sidelines when the account officially informed us today that the second Sonic movie happens. Fans wondered what the second Sonic movie will bring us what it will be called and what else beloved Sonic characters we’ll see in the next sequel (will the next generation finally know the joys of Shadow?

Tails teaser

All kidding aside, there’s only one character that Sonic fans hopefully expect to see in the second Sonic movie: Miles “Tails” Prower. According to ham-fisted clues in the Sonic movie account tweetToday, Tails is almost certainly set to appear in the sequel to the Sonic movie.

The tweet sent today includes a text-only teaser titled (and what a title!) of the sequel, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, with the number two brandishing Tails’ signature orange hue and double tail. Video game purists will recognize the music in the background from 1992 Sonic the Hedgehog 2, the game in which Tails first appears, and a game often cited as one of the GOAT video games (the best of all time).

Ring-snatcher & chaos emerald seekers rejoice: A second Sonic movie is on the horizon, and it looks like Tails will be joining the fun. The official Sonic film Twitter has spoken, and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will be released on April 8, 2022.
