MUMBAI: Long gone are the days when a mother raised children on her own, while the father stepped out of the house and became the breadwinner. Times have changed dramatically, and today fathers in metropolises also act to share their responsibility. The trend in particular is also catching up with several celebrities following the pattern and setting an example for their followers.
Like Virat Kohli, comedian actor Kapil Sharma, who recently became a second-time father, is expected to be on paternity leave soon to take care of his baby, a daughter. Several media reports have claimed that now that the comedian is taking paternity leave, Kapil’s show ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ will be temporarily off the air in late February. Beloved comedian and wife Ginni Chatrath welcomed their second child on February 1.
In January, Kapil had hinted to fans about his paternity leave. During a ‘# askkapil’ session on Twitter hosted by Kapil, when a fan asked why the comedy show was going off the air, the stand-up comedian replied, “Bcoz, I have to be home with my wife to welcome our second baby. During the Q&A session, he also answered other questions from his fans. A user asked him about Anayra’s first words and he wrote back, “I think Daddy, frankly it was Mommy.” When Sharma responded to a fan’s request, he posted an adorable video of his one-year-old daughter Anayra learning to walk.
Fans of the show need not worry as ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ will be back soon in a revamped avatar. Meanwhile, fans should also look forward to Kapil’s exciting partnership with Netflix, a short trailer of which he shared on Instagram.
