The latest installment of the annual Duty franchise is upon us, and for those who pre-ordered Modern Warfare 2 on their chosen platform, the campaign can be played a full week before release.
In 2019, Activision made the smart decision to revive the franchise by playing on the nostalgic glasses of fans and releasing Modern Warfare. Using the same characters and name of arguably the biggest and best-loved entry had the desired effect, and Modern Warfare was hailed with awards and positive reviews.
The campaign alone has been regarded as one of the best for years, and with the reintroduction of fan favorites Captain Price, albeit a new version, and introducing us to the likes of Gaz and Alex, it’s no surprise.
Which brings us to the next chapter of the rebooted franchise, Modern Warfare 2. The game takes place after the events of the first one and starts with another character being brought back from the dead in the gruff, spiky Ghost. As shown in the announcement trailers, you’ll walk through a rocky canyon before orchestrating an encampment attack with a missile. It’s a brief introduction to a game that lets you know where you stand.
