Kabir Singh (2019 film)

Kabir Singh is a 2019 Indian Telugu-language romantic drama film directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, produced by Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani under T-Series and Cine1 Studios. It is the remake of Vanga’s 2017 Hindi-language film Arjun Reddy, which was also written by him. The film stars Vijay Deverakonda and Kiara Advani, with supporting roles played by Jagapathi Babu, Ramya Krishnan, Vennela Kishore, and Rajiv Kanakala. The film follows Kabir Singh, an alcoholic surgeon who becomes violent after his girlfriend leaves him for another man. The film was released theatrically on 21 June 2019. Kabir Singh received mixed reviews from critics, with praise for the performances of Deverakonda and Advani, but criticism for its misogynistic and violent content. The film was a commercial success, grossing over ?270 crore worldwide. Plot Kabir Singh (Vijay Deverakonda) is a medical student at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi. He is a brilliant student but also has a violent temper. He falls in love with Preeti (Kiara Advani), a medical student from a conservative family. They start dating, but Preeti’s family disapproves of their relationship. Kabir and Preeti get married in secret, but Preeti’s family disowns her. Kabir and Preeti move to Hyderabad, where Kabir starts working as a surgeon. They are happy together, but Preeti becomes pregnant and has to quit her job. Kabir becomes increasingly possessive and controlling, and he starts to abuse Preeti physically and emotionally. Preeti eventually leaves him and returns to her parents’ home. Kabir is devastated by Preeti’s departure. He becomes an alcoholic and starts to neglect his work. He is eventually expelled from AIIMS. Kabir moves to Mumbai and starts working as a surgeon in a private hospital. He becomes successful in his career, but he is still haunted by Preeti. One day, Kabir meets Preeti again. She is now married to another man and has a child. Kabir is still in love with her, but he knows that he can never be with her. He leaves her alone and returns to Mumbai. Kabir continues to work as a surgeon, but he is still unable to move on from Preeti. He eventually decides to go to London to pursue further studies. He hopes that by leaving India, he will be able to forget Preeti. Kabir arrives in London and starts his studies. He meets a woman named Jenny (Ameesha Patel) and they start dating. Jenny is kind and supportive, and she helps Kabir to heal from his past. Kabir eventually falls in love with Jenny, and they get married. Kabir and Jenny live happily together in London. Kabir has finally found peace and happiness.
