History
The Hollywood Casino 400 was first held in 2001 as the Kansas Lottery 400. The race was originally held at Kansas Speedway’s original configuration, which was a 1.5-mile (2.4 km) tri-oval. The race was held under the lights at night for the first time in 2005.
In 2011, Kansas Speedway underwent a major renovation that included the addition of a new 1.5-mile (2.4 km) quad-oval. The Hollywood Casino 400 was one of the first races held on the new track.

Format
