Bridesmaids (2011)

Paul Feig’s Bridesmaids has all the elements to make the perfect Galentine’s Day movie. It’s hilarious, it focuses on the interpersonal relationship between women, and it has Jon Hamm. Annie (Kristen Wiig) is excited to find out that her best friend Lillian (Maya Rudolph) is getting married and wants her to be the bridesmaid at the wedding. Pitch perfect (2012)

The movie may not have introduced a cappella to the world, but it certainly did a lot to make it cooler with the Barden Bellas putting out a cappella versions of all the big pop hits and their remixes. The story follows Becca (Anna Kendrick) as she reluctantly tries to get into the student spirit by joining an a cappella group. Jennifer Lopez was robbed when she failed to receive an Oscar nomination for her role as Ramona in this critically acclaimed 2019 hit about a group of strippers who connive the rich. It was based on one New York Magazine article by Jessica Pressler, about a real crew of New York strippers who acted like the modern Robin Hood by stealing from the rich and entitled and giving it to themselves. Aside from the singer, the movie stars Constance Wu, Lizzo, Cardi B, Lili Reinhart, Keke Palmer and Julia Stiles.
